Associated Press Television News

How do foreign journalists tell the story of a rapidly changing China? How do they operate, what restrictions do they face and what are the roles of their Chinese colleagues? What differences are there between television reporting and other forms of journalism in China?

Wivell has been an accredited journalist in the Beijing bureau of the Associated Press for the past eight years. A fluent Mandarin speaker who studied at Nanjing University and Beijing University, he has visited each of China's 33 provinces to report on cultural and econoic developments, natural disasters, social unrest, politics and science.
