Mini-seminar with Laura Browder: "Hammer and Sickle, Stars and Stripes: The Odyssey of Earl Browder"

Laura Browder is the Tyler and Alice Haynes Professor of American Studies at the University of Richmond and is the executive producer of the PBS documentary The Reconstruction of Asa Carter. Browder's most recent book is When Janey Comes Marching Home: Portraits of Women Combat Veterans, with photographs by Sascha Pflaeging, for which she interviewed fifty two women from all branches of the military. She is currently working on a documentary film called Mothers at War as well as a documentary about her grandfather, Communist Party leader Earl Browder
The College of Arts and Sciences at Syracuse University presents the 2012-2013 Ray Smith Symposium, "Positions of Dissent." Organized by the Special Collections Research Center (SCRC), Syracuse University Library, and faculty members from the College of Arts and Sciences, the program is co-sponsored by the SU Humanities Center, School of Architecture, Department of History, and Department of English.
