Loren Glass is Associate Professor of English and with the Center for the Book at the University of Iowa. His first book, Authors Inc.: Literary Celebrity in the Modern United States, was published by New York University Press in 2004. His history of Grove Press, Counter-Culture Colophon: Grove Press, the Evergreen Review, and the Incorporation of the Avant-Garde is forthcoming in the Post*45 Series with Stanford University Press in 2013.
The College of Arts and Sciences at Syracuse University presents the 2012-2013 Ray Smith Symposium, "Positions of Dissent." Organized by the Special Collections Research Center (SCRC), Syracuse University Library, and faculty members from the College of Arts and Sciences, the program is co-sponsored by the SU Humanities Center, School of Architecture, Department of History, and Department of English.
